CHICAGO'S SANCTUARY CITY MAYOR
Brandon Johnson
Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson has transformed the city into a safe haven for violent criminal gangs and illegal immigrants, prioritizing sanctuary policies that shield criminals from deportation while tying the hands of law enforcement and draining taxpayers of hundreds of millions of dollars. Under his leadership, dangerous foreign gangs like Venezuela’s Tren de Aragua have exploited these policies to evade deportation and commit crimes on American soil.

Two illegal immigrants, Jefferson Ubilla-Delgado, 29, from Ecuador, and Geiderwuin Bello Morales, 21, from Venezuela, were arrested and charged with first-degree murder and robbery. Prosecutors allege that Bello Morales beat Levin, while Ubilla-Delgado admitted to participating in tying him up during a robbery after meeting him via the Grindr dating app. Bello Morales had a prior arrest on January 12, 2025, for allegedly attempting to lure a 13-year-old girl to a car, and was charged with misdemeanor assault; he was released shortly after. Ubilla-Delgado was wearing a Department of Homeland Security GPS ankle monitor at the time of the murder, linked to an unspecified immigration-related issue, not a prior aggravated assault charge.
